dsl and router installation.

I just installed dsl and a router for my wireless laptop
and now my phone line which was two nunbers on the same
line home and fax..is not working.. If someone calls I
answer and then the fax will start beeping like someones
sending one , all the time the person is on the line..
Does anyone know how to get help on getting it bsck on
track.. Would really apreciate any answers its starting to
be quite the problem.. Thanks Connie
 
Which line (voice or fax) carries the DSL? Are you using a line splitter?
Please give us more details about your configuration, including the use of
DSL filters, which physical line (1 or 2) carries which services (voice,
fax, DSL), etc., and what devices plug in where. Remember: we can't see
your installation.
