DSL router's IP?

T

OKAY, here is my setup:
I have a DSL router in my house. The phone cord plugs into it. A
Ethernet cable runs from the router to my computer. Another computer
this one in the other bedroom, has a wireless attachment to the sam
router, in my room. So all in all, I only have two computers on my hom
network.
Now, my question: how do I access my computer from, say, the colleg
computer lab? How do I open Remote Desktop on the school computers
after I do the wizard for it on my own computer?
Also, how do I figure out my router's IP address?

Thank you, all you people who will (hopefully) answer my questions...

TRAVISTOMJAY,

if you want to do it securely, you have to use a Virtual Private
Network (VPN). You have to use a router that supports it.

If you want to do it insecurely, you can put your computer in
the routers DeMilitarized Zone (DMZ).

To get around this problem, you can either make sure your IP
address never changes or, more likely, you use one of the
Dynamic DNS services. Ideally your router should support that
too and actually do it for you. Then you can reach your router
and your computer through an Internet host address that you
choose on the DynDNS service.
