I am trying to install Drop my Rights Software.

I get the message "installation successful". But when I click on it to run
the program I get a "commnad line window" for a split second.

I tried after disabling Fw, AV and anti-spyware products.

Can someone advise me on how to run this program?

I love this little program!

I have not had any browser security problems now that I run Internet
Explorer with Drop My Rights.

Drop My Rights does not have a GUI. You use it by running it with a command
such as (Creat a shortcut with this as the location):
%windir%\System32\StripMyRights.exe /L N "C:\Program Files\Internet
Explorer\iexplore.exe"

Very good instructions here:
http://cybercoyote.org/security/drop.shtml

Whoops! I noted StripMyRights.exe, not DropMyRights.exe but it is basically
the same for Drop My Rights.

If you were asking a question about the WINDOWS XP OPERATING SYSTEM,
yeah, maybe someone would chime in.

You're asking about a little-known program that has NOTHING TO DO with
the XP operating system.

Go fly a kite.

Consult the makers of the program, rather than posting your question in
a completely unrelated newsgroup.

For the problems noted in the SecurityFocus article at
http://www.securityfocus.com/infocus/1848 when constrained or even
normal user modes are used with DropMyRights, why wouldn't it be better
to use Sandboxie (runs a VM under the host OS) or VMWare Server or
Virtual PC (runs a VM under a separate OS environment)? Running the
browser in a VM is safer and without all the hassles of reduced
privileges. With Sandboxie, any changes made during the browser session
(or whatever application you choose) are saved in the VM so they are
already restricted. All changes are eradicated when the VM is exited;
i.e., when you exit the VM (or revert it), it starts anew with the fresh
version of that VM. Sandboxie isn't perfect against all exploits so
maybe you should look at VMWare Server (which has its snapshot feature
to revert the VM back to a base known state) or Virtual PC, both of
which are free.

Note: Sandboxie degrades into nagware after the 30-day trial.
