Drop down not appearing in views

i have created a drop down list in a custom form, and created a new task with
that form, but when i show that field in a custom view, it allows me to type
in the field at random, instead of jumping into the drop down, similar to the
status field (which is the effect i am going for.).

Outlook has no support for custom drop-down lists in folder views, only in forms.
