Drop Down Menus

I'm attempting to create drop down menus, but it keeps indicating that the
list source has to be a delimited list - I don't know what that means. HELP!!

If you are typing the items into the Data Validation>List>source dialog you
must enter them as such

cat,dog,rat,horse note the commas

Or you can use a range of cells like =$A$1:$A$10
