how do i create a drop down menu in a field and how do i edit text in an
already existing drop down menu
 
Are you serious? What are you trying to do? Have you done any .Net
programming? What language are you using? Which version of Visual Studio?

boss use css based menu and some javascript and you have nice menu and
if you are using vb.net 2005 then you have built in menu for that...so
enjoy
