Drop down feature freezes computer

Anytime I try to use dropdown menus in explorer, word, etc. My computer
freezes up. Does anyone know what might be causing this.

Easy Fix: Visit http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll
down to Item No. 383 "Hewlett-Packard's Share-to-Web software - Fix (MS06-015)"
to download a registry fix.

Note: You may need to temporarily disable your antivirus program
in order to safely run the scripted fix.

Hello ,

Try [navigating to "Services"] : Start/Control Panel/Administrative
Tools/Services/scroll down to "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)"/Open
WIA/Select "Startup Type" Disabled/select Service Status : Stop/OK.

instructions and voila, problem solved.
