Drop Down Boxes

How do i have a drop down box (the exact size of the cell) but th
'choice' arrow doesnt appear until the cell is clicked on - I've see
on some spreadsheets and wondering how it was done, is it with cod
because wen i rick click on the cell there is no object so it cant b
from the control toolbar
 
That is done with

Data/Validation

On the Settings tab under Allow select the List option and either input the
list of choices directly or select from a range.
