Drives Not Recognized

Both my CD-ROM and RW Drives not being
recognized by system . Show ok in BIOS and
both light up on bootup. Have checked connections
and tight. Both drive doors open ok but neither will
read any disks. Neither show under My Computer.

Both have yellow? under devices and when click to
update device, get error code 39 which have no
idea what means. Both working ok yesterday and
seems odd neither working now.

OS is XP-Pro SP2 and no other problems.

Any help as to what could be problem or what further
to check would be much appreciated.

CD-ROM & RW drives now recognized and working

"My CD drives have vanished (from Explorer, Device Manager, etc.)"

Download where says "here" - unzip and run the
registry patch called cdgone
