drivers not installed

in device manager i see that i have a large yellow question mark against
"other devices". these are Multimedia Audio Controllerand USB Controller.
right-clicking and properties shows that the drivers are not installed. i do
not have a disk for these so i have downloaded/opened the ones that were
advised by the computer helpline and they are now on the end of the list but
the yelloow question mark is still there. what have i done wrong and how can
i put it right?

Boot into safe mode and uninstall all these bad devices.
Reboot and reinstall
