DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL - tcpip.sys

Every once in a while I get a BSOD with:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

TCPIP.SYS

Not exactly sure what else is listed as it goes so fast. After numerous
searches I have found it to be one (or perhaps more) many things:

Bad Driver
Zone Alarm
Hardware Issue
etc..

Reinstalled my Wireless card drivers, video card drivers which are the only
ones I have updated. No help obviously. Any ideas? Here are my Specs: (Brand
New Dell Inspiron 1720)

Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Premium
Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T8300 @ 2.40GHz
SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
2 Gigs DDR2

How is your wireless connected? You say card, is it an add-on PCI or PCI-e?
If you also have onboard LAN you should disable those. Try an earlier
driver for the card if the current one is problematic.

On the Bridge!

zonealarm has been known to add about a trillion problems to windows...

its one of the most crappy programs out there... I wouldnt get near it with
a 10 foot stick

try uninstalling it, and see if you get the problem again.

If you do, its not zonealarm,
if you dont then zonealarm is the problem for one more time....

Going to try and remove zone alarm. I assume that it is what causes the
problem as it never happened before that point. Any suggestions for anti
virus / spyware? I would prefer to have both in one. Anything I suppose
except norton, which I cannot stand. Caused many problems for me in the past.

I have used AVG pro for 5-6 years with no problems on 98, 98SE, 2000,
XP and now Vista.

try it

JesterDev,

Try NOD32. I'm sure you'll like it.
