Driver question

I just had to reinstall WindowXP Prof. I have a web cam on my
computer. When I bought the web cam, I plugged it in the USB port and
windows found the driver and installed it. I'm not sure of the make of
the webcam and I don't have the install disk. WindowsXP no longer
finds the driver to install. Is there any place I can go to find some
kind of "generic" webcam driver or is there any way to identify the
webcam that I have. I know this is a long shot, but I figure if I'm
gonna get an anwser it will be on here...thanks

There must be a way of identifying the camera. The problem you're facing is
most of these devices require you first install the software and then plug
in the device and without knowing what cam you have it will be difficult
getting hold of the correct driver (there isn't a universal driver I know
of.) Look at the underside of the base and all around the cam for any
indication or you might browse images of webcams until you find something
similar.
