Driver problem prolink 1456psa

I had to reinstall a windows system because of previous hardware/driver
problems. Suddenly I cannot install de driver anymore for the Prolink
1456PSA modem. The identificationstring seems to be ok. It's a Motorola SM56
type modem. What can be wrong? XP complains that the driver does not match
the hardware.

From where are you getting the driver? Drivers should be obtained from
either the hardware mftr.'s website or from the computer mftr.'s site
for your specific model machine if you have that kind of computer (Dell,
Sony, HP, etc.).

You mention that you had previous "hardware/driver" problems. What were
they? If you had failing hardware and didn't replace that hardware,
software solutions (reinstalling Windows) will fail.
