Driver issues?

My computer has been freezing randomly. It works fine in safe mode
which leads me to believe that a driver is to blame. I have done the
msconfig -> disable all programs running at startup, but I don't think
it will help much. Since there are so many drivers is there a way to
update them or verify them or by some means root out the bad one
without having to disable one, wait for the freeze, then go on and on
down the list? And if that is the only way are there drivers that I
should not disable ever?

As I thought, disabling the programs at startup did not help.

Is there possibly a way to see which drivers are active in safe mode
and which are not? It may greatly narrow my search.

From the Start | Run dialogue box run msinfo32 and then look in
Software Environment. Alternatively, the Resource Kit Drivers.exe
utility can be used at the command prompt an it will display loaded
drivers only.
