driver installation

i'm trying to install the xp driver for a usb gamepad. it
worked ok after a fresh install of windows. but after the
first reboot, the driver appears to be corrupt(eitheri
can't properly configure controller, or controll panel
for the controller locks up). so i've uninstalled and now
it simply shows up as generic "human interface device"
heres the big problem.. now if i try to install the
driver manually(i.e upgrading the "human interface
device" driver to the offical gamepad driver) it gets so
far before i get the error "an error has occurred during
the installation of the device" "the class installer has
denied the request to install or upgrade this device."

any ideas?

Hi Timmy,

I getting the same error message for my web camera. I had
changed the USB port and then the software did not detect
the camera. Therefore I uninstalled the software as well
as the device. But after that when I again tried to
install, I received the same message, only in my case the
camera showed up as "USB Device".

Please let me know if you have found a solution.
