Driver for ACPI Uniprocessor PC?

I just noticed that the driver for my "ACPI Uniprocessor PC" in Device
Manager is by Microsoft, and dates from 2001. Is this the sort of driver
that rarely evolves, or should I consider trying to find a newer one? If I
need to find a newer one, which hardware entity is it associated with, if
any?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

It works, why worry?
