Driver conflict?

Last night my monitor started blinking and my graphics were screwing up
so I thought I'd just update my video card driver. I went to the Nvidia
site downloaded and installed the their latest driver updates and did
the restart when prompted. That when the trouble started. Now my OS
won't launch. None of my USB ports are working as I had to pull out my
old keyboard to get it to work. I was finally able to get into safemode
but to no avail. It starts loading all of the drivers but sticks on
mup.sys. Any help would be appreciated. It never gets far enough along
in the boot process for a system recovery disk to work either. Oh...the
load last configuration option doesn't work either.

Thanks,

JG

you might try unplugging the video card and plug your monitor into the
standard port. If you get into the pc, be sure to unplug all cables from
the pc, be sure to de-static yourself and have good lighting. I would look
to see if by chance the video card wiggled out of its socket and if it is
screwed into the chassis. If so, then I would pull it out, keeping in mind
to grab it and hold it by the ends/edges. This should get you back a
monitor to load and view your current windows situation. If you can view
but cannot load and of the windows boot menu otpions, then let us know...
