Driver and System problems

J

I am having several problems installing drivers. I have
removed all previous installs, rebooted, removed certain
pnf files, etc etc...

basics, Windows XP pro, service pack 2(but still had the
problem in SP10) Sony Vaio Notebook

In reviewing different drivers and diffent system
vaiables 2 things i've found that i'm not sure if this is
normal.
1. The drivers seemed to be signed Windows
Publisher...on a buddies system they are signed Windows
XP publisher
2. System variables says OS is windows NT, but "My
Computer" info shows windows XP SP2
Question is, is this all normal?
Any suggestions to rectify my driver issues. Can't
install any printers(tried Lexmark, HP and Canon.)
3. Couldn't install ZipDrive and had major problems
installing cordless mouse. Wireless card installed no
problem.

thanks

If you were having problems with this in SP1 then upgrading to SP2 would
probably make things even worse. You might consider removing SP2 and
fixing the problems, then upgrade. Sorry I can't help you with the
specific issues.
