Hi,
I recently re-installed Win XP Pro. SP2, and I am now having trouble
installing drivers, as it keeps asking me do I want to install it, whether it
is a USB piece of equipment or a device driver. I have set the Driver
Signing Option to ignore, but I can't even update Direct X from the Windows
web site as the install halts half way through and tells me that the
'software has not passed Windows logo testing to verify it's compatibility
with Win XP, and that the software will not be installed, and to contact your
system administrator' (which is me). I have all rights etc. to install/remove
software as it is only a home based pc. How can I get rid of this problem??

Thanks

hi there..
some of the hardware drivers r not supported by windows xp with service pack
2.. i would recommand you to check your hardware' website for updated drivers.
i faced the same problem with my tv tunner after i had service pack 2
installed.

and about directx.. sp2 comes with latest version of directx so u dont need
update it :)

Hi,
There is a new (Feb 2006) I think update for Direct X, for me, the download
should have been around 5 Mb, but even offthe windows web site, it would not
accept it. I have installed the update once from the 'Oblvion' game disc, but
have since re-installed XP and will noe not install.

Thanks
