Drive Sharing Problems

I can't access my networked shared computer.

For example, if that computer is called "CPU2", and it's
drive is called "DRIVE2", if I try to access \\CPU2
\DRIVE2 it works, but if I try to access \\CPU2 it
doesn't.

Both machines are running Windows XP SP1.

Permissions are set on DRIVE2 to FULL CONTROL for
EVERYONE.

This problem brings me to another annoyance I'm having,
that I cannot access some of the user profile directories
on DRIVE2.

So let's say I try and get to \\CPU2\DRIVE2\Documents and
Settings\USER1, it'll give me an access denied error
message. I can set security on the USER1 directory to
include EVERYONE with FULL CONTROL, but that will only
apply to that one folder, and all subfolders will
maintain the restrictions.

Is it possible to circumvent this, such that I'll be able
to access the subdirectories to the main user directory,
without modifying the security for each of them?

Thanks in advance. Oh, and CPU2 has no problem accessing
resources on CPU1 (any of them).
