Drive letters listed in descending order

When I want to map a network drive, the drive letters are listed in
descending order.

This has changed only in the last few days and I've no idea why this has
changed.

What could cause this?

How can I set it back to normal?

Where are you viewing the drive letters?

If in Windows Explorer, view> Details and click the Name column to reverse
the order.

If in Disk Management, the volume labels are listed alphabetically -not the
drive letters. That's by design but...

There are tweaks available to change this so drive letters list first. I've
never tried them so don't know what ramifications, if any, exist. Here's
one site that has the tweaks in .reg form for local drives and network
