Drive letters disappear CDROM

H

Henry L.

I had a server computer lose its CDROM driveletters for no apparent reason.
Two CDROM stations.

Now, today - two friends reported the same thing happening to their
computers. I have not been able to check their computers - but I could not
get mine to work.

I reformatted, and installed NOD32 on it. - Never found a virus, and since
I installed Nod32 the computer has been running perfectly.

Still .. I don't like not knowing what was wrong.

I know there was a virus way back in the days, that killed the CDROM drive
- but .. I don't know.

Any one else experience this?
