My step daughter has a Toshiba laptop computer and when she plugs in her
digital camera it bumps the cd rom drive and it disappears meaning that the
cd rom is drive "E" and when she plugs the camera in it becomes drive "E"
and the cd rom disappears. How do I get the drive back and how do I lock the
drive letters so that it doesn't bump it no more?
Thanks

Connect the camera, go to control panel | admin tools | computer management
| disk management, find the camera, and assign it a different drive letter.

You're most welcome.

PS: You might consider changing your display name if you want to increase
the odds of your getting help. :)

Best bet is when you setup your pc or get a big brand pc is to put the
cdrom letters out of the way of new devices including new hard drives.
Set your cdrom drives to letter R: or W:
