is it possible to remove Drive Labels in Explorer

Nope. Here are the choices...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Explorer
Value Name: ShowDriveLettersFirst
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Value Data:
0 = Default display - drive letters after description
1 = Network drive letters first, Local drive letters after
2 = Descriptions only, no drive letters displayed
4 = Drive letters before description for all drives

From these and other sources...

Drive letters
[[This allows specifying how the letters are displayed in “My Computer”.
The options are:

* Show all drive letters after the label
* Show all drive letters before the label
* Show network drive letters before the label and show local drive letters
after the label
* Never show drive letters ]]

However, TweakUI's option order is messed up...

I never paid attention to that as I always name them. I see now that removing
a name does default to local disk.

Right click the drive.
Click Properties.
Under the General tab, either delete the name in the text input box or
type a new one.
Click Apply > Ok.
