I have just been through the same exercise as described by Richard.

One thing that had me confused was that initially I just copied the ISO
image file to the CD. This is wrong.
You must burn the ISO IMAGE to the CD using the ISO image file as your
source file.

In Roxio's Easy CD Creator 5.0 the correct operation is in the File menu -
"Record CD from CD Image."

To boot from the CD you must have your CD-ROM drive first on the boot
sequence in the BIOS settings.

There is a document on the PowerQuest web site which may help you:

I'm thinking of purchasing Drive Image 7 online from powerquest.com. Upon
purchase, the application will be available for download.

One question I have is the documentation says to test the PQRE with the
Drive Image cd that you have. If I purchase it online, there is no CD?
Will copying all the install files to a CD be sufficient or do I need to do
something extra such as make the CD bootable. If I have to do the latter
option, could someone tell me how to do this.

Thank you

Here's how it worked for me!

I purchased/downloaded Drive Image 7.0. when it was introduced. About 10
days later I received a package in the mail containing both Drive Image 7.0
and Drive Image 2002 (which I already owned).

Then about 2-3 months later there was an update to Drive Image 7.01. I
downloaded the complete update (366 meg download), not the Windows update
(38 meg). The complete update contained an .iso file which could be burned
to CD using, in my case, CD Creator. This gave me a bootable CD with which
to rune the PQRE (could also do it with the CD's they sent me for ver 7.0)

I would think that anyone who purchases now would get the 7.01 366 meg
download. Maybe you can opt for the Windows download which CAN NOT be used
to create the CD.

cool, I was trying to say not to download it. some of the
older ones are not upgradeable, I traded in a old ghost I
had , already got my $30.00

I don't know anything about slipstreaming but DON'T use Bootable CD. This
is for making a bootable CD from floppy disks, not from an ISO image file.
I made this mistake too!
Use only "Record CD from CD Image" and browse to the ISO image file.

Here is the procedure for making a bootable CD from an ISO image file.

Using Roxio Easy CD Creator 5;
1. Click Start>Programs>Roxio Easy CD Creator 5>Project Selector
2. At the "Select a Project" screen, click "Make a Data CD", and then click
"Data CD Project".
3. From the File menu select "record CD from CD Image".
4. A browse window will open and browse to the ISO image file location,
highlight it and click on "Open".
5. Click the "Record" button.
Depending on the speed of your CD, the recording should take about 15 mins.

"Bootable CD - This is for making a bootable CD from floppy disks, not from
an ISO image file."

I should have said that this process is for MAKING a CD image, usually a BIN
file, to burn to a CD.

In the case of Drive Image 7.0, PowerQuest provides a CD image, in an ISO
file, which is READY to burn to a CD.
