Drive H

I have an icon on my taskbar that states "Safely Remove Hardware". When I click it, I get a small
window that allows me to "Safely remove USB Mass Storage Device - Drive (H). I don't have a Drive H,
although it shows up in Win Explorer as a drive H. I thought it was just windows telling me I had a
none existent drive. But this is recorded as a plug and play Drive. Anyone tell me what this is? I
know I don't have a fisical Drive H.
The icon that will delete this is on the system tray as an uninstaller for plug and play. If I
uninstall this drive will there be any reprocussions, as I don't want it.
Thanks for any help

So you do NOT have a camera, usb hard drive, usb thumb drive or other such
device plugged into your USB port?

If your printer is USB and has a card reader, etc, it will show as an added
drive.

Removing the device will not do anything to your system. The next time you
plug the device in you will see notices in the nofitication area informing
you that the device has been detected and then that it is installed and
ready for use. Removing it or not will not adversly affect your computer.

That's it, I have HP Photosmart Printer that has card readers. I didn't realize that these utilized
added drives.
Thank you, It just shows me how little know. It's hard for me to comprehend how you people have such
knowledge.

You're welcome. The reason I knew about it is, I went through the same
situation myself!
