Drive Does Not Appear in My Computer System Folder

My D drive is not showing up in my computer folder, I
check in device manager and it is working correctly. I
can reboot sometimes and get it back, other times I have
to power down many times to get it back.

Thanks for any help
 
Try replacing the ribbon cable and moving the drive to the secondary Ide
channel.
 
The drive shows up during boot, and says it's working
correctly in device manager, it is the secondary drive
and it is plugged into the secondary ide on the
motherboard. I just don't have it showing up in my
computer.

Do you have another suggestion?
