Drive c Critically low on space. HELP!

G

Guest

XP Pro, I have 40G hard drive; Volume C (Boot)(NTFS) is set at 4G, volume D (system) (FAT32) at 30G. I constantly recieve low disk space warning on C. Apparemtly, we have been allowing new programs, downloads, files, etc to be stored in C.

What do I need to do? Can I re-size the volume, do I need to transfer all the programs and files to D, how do I do that correctly?

Thanks for any help you can provide, this is driving me NUTS!

You need a third party app such as Partition Magic, www.powerquest.com. It
allows you to resize existing partitions, including the OS partition, (C:),
without data loss or functionality. Be sure to backup important system info
and data just as a precaution. I

Move the pagefile to D:
Use Dsik Cleanup wizard to clean up temp files.
uninstall some apps on C: and reinstall them in D:\Program
Files.

Bill,

Transfer the downloads to D: & Delete unwanted files in the hard disk. Use Disk Cleanup and purge all system restore points except the last point. Click Start/Run/Cleanmgr / More Options / system restore /cleanup.
