Dragging a favorite to the top of the list quickly?

I have my favorites in alpha order but like to drag a couple to the top of
the list but I can only drag it to the top of what appears to be a full page
of Favorites, then I have to use the up arrow to move the top item to the
bottom of the page and then again and again, I drag the Favorite to be moved,
page after page. I have to keep an eye on it to locate it again for the next
drag for the length of one page only. Can it be dragged to the top of the
list immediately? Thanx!

I presume you are trying to do this in IE by opening the favourites
list.
Try this;

Double click on the favourite that you want to move, hold on 2nd click.
Move the item selected to the top of the list until
the list starts to scroll.
When you get to the place that you want, release the left mouse key.
It works the other way round also, ie: if you want to move
a favourite to the bottom.
Is that what you wanted ?

A better solution is to make custom folder under your favorites. You
can then move any favorite to that folder. New favorites you set up
can be saved directly to it's folder under favorites. It works just
like Windows Explorer. You can set up as many folders as you want. To
get started just click on organize favorites after you click on
favorites from Windows browser.

LoneWolf, Thanks for the reply. That is exactly what I'm trying to do. If
I double click and hold on the second click, that site opens up but I'm not
given the opportunity to move the site up the list. If I single click and
hold the click, I can move the selected favorite but only as far as the page
of favorites on the screen - the list of favorites will not scroll as it did
in Win98.

I appreciate the suggestions of creating folders from others but that isn't
what I'm trying to do. Paw

Hmmmm, sorry about the double click.
I use single click for everything, double click for grabbing something.
Well, it works here & I just tried it in the favourites
folder (windows explorer) & it works there too.
But, that doesn't help you.
I looked at all the settings that might apply but found nothing.
Some-one more knowledgeable than me might come up with
something.

OK ! then lets just try this.

In 'organise favourites', create a NEW folder.
Call it anything you want but make sure it's
at the top of the list.
Once that's done click on your favourites
and try moving your selection to the top of
the list and see if it scrolls then.
