Drag and drop to DVD. Is it possible without a 3rd party program?

Hello,

If I am going to store any file in a CD I just drag it to CD drive,
and click on the bubble opened and click on the Write these files on the
context menu. It workd fine. But the same operation doesn't work for DVD's.
Why? I have to use A program from Roxio or something else for the same
thing. What am I missing?

You aren't missing anything. XP does not have a built-in ability to burn
DVD's. You need to use a third-party program such as Roxio or Nero.
Here is a free burning program, too:

XP has not ability to write DVDs. You'll need 3rd party, packet writing
software for that such as from Nero or Roxio.

Yes you need 3rd party software. XP merely stages the files you want
copied, then the inherent copying program in XP copies these to the CD in
ISO/Joliet format. The inherent copying software is incapable of working
with DVDs.
