I've got XP Pro SP2 and everytime I try to download a file (from any site) it
just stops part way through. No error messages appear, it just stops and I
have to reboot. I'm using the XP firewall and Norton AV...but the problem
still happens when these are both disabled!! It isn't my ISP either, I have
no limits on MB size, etc.

Any ideas?

You didn't tell us how you connect to the Internet - method and hardware
- or what changed between the time things worked and the time they
didn't.

You have a nasty running which is phoning home and and killing your
connection. Download 2 anti-virus programs and 2 anti-spyware programs
to a folder. Boot to safe mode. Install and run them. Then boot
normally, run them, hit update first, then let them scan again.
