Is WORD installed? If so...

Right-click on a downloaded file, choose OPEN WITH|CHOOSE PROGRAM. Be
sure that the "always use" box is checkmarked. Locate WORD in the list,
or browse to it, and click on OK.

If WORD is not installed, try associating the .doc file with Wordpad.

Try this:
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Go to TOOLS| INTERNET OPTIONS
3. Select the PROGRAMS tab
4. Change the HTML EDITOR from FrontPage to Microsoft Word.
