Downloading .zip files

Brian

Hi,

Whenever I click a link to a .zip file the download starts automatically.
I'd like to change it so that the prompt to Open or Save dialogbox
displayed. Right clicking and selecting Save Target As... is not an adequate
solution. This is using the built-in XP .zip defaults, not WinZip or any
outside program. I have already tried resetting options in the Internet
Properties.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me change this. Regards, Brian

Try Control Panel|FOLDER OPTIONS|TOOLS menu|FOLDER OPTIONS|FILE TYPES tab

Select the .zip entry and click the ADVANCED button

Checkmark the "confirm on download" box

Mine says "Confirm open after download". I find that confusing and would
suggest (to MS) "Prompt before downloading". However, I checkboxed it and it
does what I wanted.

Thank You Very Much,
Brian
