Downloading updates w/o using the windows update mechanism

Hello everyone,

I wonder whether it is possible to download the updates, hotfixes etc. that
we get with the "Windows update" mechanism by downloading them with ftp,
http etc.
Or, is it possible to save the downloaded fixes (with Windows Update) in
files to be used later or on a second computer withour re-downloading ?

You can use the Windows Update Catalog to download updates
without installing them. You need to enable the display
of the Windows Update Catalog via the Personalize Windows
Update button.
