Downloading software

I tried to download a program and a window keeps opening and instructing me, that my computer is unable to download this program for this reason: My systems requires Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 or later. How can I remedy this situation?

Windows XP is also Windows NT 5.1 build 2600
so it should fulfill the specifications of this software.

What is the name of the program?
You might contact the company/individual and tell them about this
problem.
