downloading slow

My old computer would download at 4 or 5k per second. I bought a new Compaq
and now I can only download between 2 and 3k per second. Is there something
I need to do to change this to make it faster
 
Sorry, wrong newsgroup.

This newsgroup is for Microsoft Access, a database
application, and not general "computer access".
