downloading problem

I have Win-XP Pro with Internety Explorer 6 and service pack 1(up to date). When on the internet I try to download a file it immediately starts downloading without opening the file download dialog box and the save as dialog box and after it downloaded the file then it only ask me where to save it or open it. I have lost the choice to name and where to save it when downloading from internet. I appreciate any help.Please email me at (e-mail address removed)

Click "Save" and you should be presented with the option of where to save
the file.

Try right click, "save target as"
