downloading error messages

can anyone help!!! when i try to download or update any software from the
internet, at the very end of the download an error message appears -
<c:\docum~1\vser~1\locals~1\temp\1xpoo.tmp\bootstrap.exe/ the name of
download e.g windows media player>. system can not find the path specified.
how can i sort this problem out so i'm able to download or update?

Clean out all temp files and then run the following from safe mode,
make sure they are uptodate before commencing
1. anti virus
2.AD-Aware http://www.tucows.com/preview/236049
3. Spybot Search & Destroy

First step is do delete all the contents in your temp/tmp folders. And
try again.
