Most files I try to download result in an error message that the file is
corrupt. I tried Adobe Acrobat Reader, Apple Quicktime, Java (From Sun site).
I have been able to install other programs, such as WinRAR, AdAware, Spybot,
Opera.

I'm thinking that a file that msiInstaller uses may be corrupt or missing.
If it were network, memory or disk issues, it seems that it wouldn't be only
certain programs that wouldn't install.

Hi,

What is the error message you see?

You windows installer engine may be corrupt.
Please try to unregister and register back the engine using the following
command:
msiexec /unregister
msiexec /regserver

If this does not work a deeper analyse may be needed.

Hope this help
