downloaded emails not in inbox!!

I upgraded from outlook 2000 to outlook 2003 and when I
download my pop3 email it recieves the messages but they
dont appear in my inbox or anywhere else! I've created a
new pst file and tried downloading to that but the file
size doesn't change after emails come in, so emails are
lost once they are deleted from the pop3 server. Anyone
have suggestions?! Why arent the emails going to the pst
and my inbox?

thanx.

Have you checked your view? View, Arrange By, Current View. Make sure you're
not filtering unread messages. Also, check your delivery location (Tools,
Email Accounts, View or Change existing email accounts) and make sure your
delivery location is the PST file you want.

thanx for the quick reply and suggestions. I've checked
all of those, and turned off all rules and filters...
Like said too, I created a new pst file and changed
delivery location to go to that, but the size of the pst
doesn't change so still they aren't being saved when
downloaded. Any other suggestions?

thanx.

Send yourself an email. Make sure you make a note of the subject. Then
perform an advanced find after you've downloaded the message. See if you can
see the message anywhere in your mailbox.

The size of the PST file isn't necessarily the best indicator of whether
your messages are being downloaded.

You don't have any rules setup do you?

I too am having problems - only some of my emails are disappearing
after being downloaded. Not straight away, but it has happened a few
days after a particular email has been downloaded.

Not just deleted either, actually disappeared completely. Even one in
my sent folder has gone.
