Download web made in Frontpage 2002 from web - (cratered hard driv

I would like any assistance in getting several websites that I produced in
Front Page 2002 SP3 from the web back to my computer.

I fried a hard drive and now have no website backup other than what I have
out on the web.

I love the convenience of Front Page but am now second guessing as there
seems to be no easy way to backup or retrieve a website (like FTP) from the
web or anywhere else.

In my efforts to back up the webs, it never seemed to work right and take
all of the mods like themes etc.... on the backup..... now that I have lost
my hard drive, I am very screwed.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Do the servers have FrontPage extensions installed??

If so, simply open the remote site using http:// log in when prompted and
then click File > Publish web and publish the web back to your machine.

To make it easier, create new empty webs on your machine first, and then
publish to these new empty webs.

TexasWing -

Assuming your web host provides FP extensions, create a folder on your
hard drive to receive the web. Then just launch FP and open your live
(online) website in it, then File | Publish to the folder you created on
the hard drive.

Yes they have front page extensions out on the web. I will try your
suggestion.

How do you mean..... open the remote site using http:// ....

Open it from Front Page..... inside of Front page and then open the site up.

Thanks for your timely reply as well

Yes.
Open FrontPage
Click File > Open web.
Enter http://websitename.com or .org whatever is appropriate and then enter
your user name and password when prompted.

When the web opens click File > Publish web and then point FrontPage to one
of the new empty webs on your machine.

Alternatively, visit the site using Internet Explorer and choose Edit with
Microsoft Office FrontPage from the File drop down menu. You will be
challenged for your username and password. Once open, Publish to the new
empty web folder on your computer.
