My computer is running at about 2% while actual downloading is very slow -
even for dialup.

Is there a built-in download meter that tells the actual character
throughput so I can easily decide whether to try some other time? Or does
that require a 3rd party utility?

(The display of the dialer does NOT show throughput and I'm referring to
page downloads that do not go through a download manager.)

JimL,

How do you connect to the internet? dialup? broadband (cable/dsl)?

Intel. But I thought it would be the operating system that determined it.

I can't find anything named internet connections exactly, but it looks
like you're pointing to the dialer, which, as I said, doesn't have actual
rates. Thanks.
