I been running the Windows Updates and my free disk space has dropped from
around 1.7gb to just over 600mb. I've noticed that the c:\download
installations\ directory is over 700mb. Can this directory be deleted? What's
its purpse?

Thanks in advance
William

Hi,

When using Windows Updates, the temporary install files go to
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\

Files in the folder Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\ will
be automatically deleted after 10 days, but you can safely
clean out the Download folder yourself after an update is
installed.
