Do you mean you want to replace Windows XP by windows 98, or do you want
to dual-boot?

Hi,

You can't install Win98 over WinXP, you must format and do a clean
installation. Backup data before beginning. If you are currently using NTFS,
you will also need to remove the existing partition(s), create new FAT32
ones and format before beginning the installation.

Why do you want to install Win98 over WinXP?

Greetings --

If you performed an upgrade from Win98/Me, elected to backup the
old system files, and didn't convert the partition to NTFS, then all
you need do is boot into Safe Mode and Start > Control Panel >
Add/Remove Programs. All of these conditions _must_ be met for the
uninstall option to be available.
