I have a new user that has a computer that
was part of a domain. He is now at a jobsite
where they only have a workgroup setup. I
know that you can't just change the network
settings from a domain to a workgroup, because
the user will no longer be able to login.

What is the proper way to do this?

Thank You
DS

He will need a local account on that machine and whoever is the admin should
have the administrator account. You will need to save stuff in his profile
so it is not lost before doing this. Basically once you take machine to a
workgroup he will login as a completely new user and he profile will be
recreated. You could also try and copy his old profile over his new one but
it may not be accessible after the move.
