I have a PC with a single hard disk drive configured with a single Fat32 File System containing Windows XP Professional Operating system. I need to replace the operating system with Windows XP Home Edition or Windows 98. How do I go about replacing it? My upgrade Windows XP Home Edition will not allow me to install it in place of XP Professional. My Windows98 or WindowsMe will not allow me to install over this type of operating system. Dos 5 will not install because the primary partition is already used? It seems that I can’t format the drive, do an fdisk, install Win98, WinMe, WinXP Home or DOS. How do I get a clean disk or change my operating system?

FDisk would work if xp was in ntfs, just go to run, type:cmd In cmd type:
CONVERT C: /FS:ntfs Youll need to restart computer for it to run

Go to the hard drive's manufacturer's web site and download the program for
formatting and partitioning your hard disk to a floppy or two. They're free.
