winxp box .... NOTT recognizing my win98 hdd

hi all


........i am try-in to 'migrate ' some files from (( old )) win98 box (( fat
32 ..i think )) TO my winxp box (( ntfs ))

....soo ...i pulled my hdd from win98 box & installed IT as the primary SLAVE
(( IT mounts )) ....winXP is the master


...yett when i try to access any-thing OFF my win98 hdd .....FROM winXP ((
to copy the files )) ........my winXP box throws UP a warning box ..THAT
the drive IS NOTT formatted ....do you want to format (( & of course i do
NOTT ...i WANT those files ........)) ........

...soo my question ..IS ...i thought an ntfs system (( winXP )) CANN ...'see
" ..a fat 32 (( win98 )) file structure ......?? (( looks back-wards
.....?? ?? ))


...i am missing some-thing here (( obviously ))

...also...(( juss so you know )) ....please NOTE i am NOTT a ms-dos kind-a
guy ...........

Since you are 'not an MSDos kind of guy", you should seek some local help in
starting the Recovery Console, to try things like chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr,
and bootcfg.
