Dowload of non-Word 2002 elements in service packs

I have Word 2002, part of Works Suite 2002, but I do NOT
have Office. I've noticed that there are two service
packs available (SP1 and SP2) for downloading that
contain patches, etc., for Word 2002 plus another program
in the Office group (Excel?). I do not have that other
program. Therefore, in order to get ONLY the Word 2002
patches, is it possible to download the entire service
packs and then delete the patches for the Office program
I do not have?

When you download and apply the updates, only those updates that are
applicable will be applied.

No. You run the ServicePatch exe file and it will only update what you have
installed.
