Double forward slash in address

I am working with FrontPage 2000 and uploaded to Geocities; I can see my page
in Advanced Editor but the address reads
http://www.geocities.com/example//index.html with a double forward slash
between example and index so it does not show up normally. How do I get rid
of the extra forward slash?
