double-clicking problem

Not sure if this is directly PowerPoint related or an OS issue...

I have a linked presentation shown as an icon on a slide. Normally I can
double-click on the icon to open edit the linked file, but on one particular
laptop, double-clicking has no effect. I can right-click and select 'edit',
but not double-click. Double-clicking does work in other situations (e.g.
within Windows Explorer).

A colleague with a similar issue suggested it has happened to him after
intalling Swiff player.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Hmm - I uninstalled Swiff, but the problem remains .(

Did you re-boot after you un-installed it?

Thanks all - I'm away from the machine at present but will reboot (though I
think I did already) when I return.

Regards.
